The three-pass dryer, also known as the three-layer roller dryer, is an energy-efficient upgrade developed by our factory in response to market demands. It is based on the single-cylinder rotary dryer and provides excellent drying results.
The three-drum rotary dryer is an innovative improvement over single-cylinder models. It features three concentric drums (inner, middle, and outer) arranged horizontally, which significantly shortens the equipment's overall length while maximizing interior space efficiency. This compact design reduces both floor space requirements and construction costs, offering high energy efficiency.
With broad applicability, this dryer is suitable for processing various mixed materials such as sand, slag, clay, coal, iron ore, and mineral powder. In the construction industry, it is particularly effective for drying dry-mixed mortar, river sand, and bank sand.
Materials are fed into the inner layer of the rotating drum via the feeding device, initiating the concurrent drying process. Inside the inner layer, the materials are continuously scooped up and scattered by the lifting plates, moving in a spiral trajectory to facilitate effective heat exchange. As the materials advance, they reach the opposite end of the inner layer and proceed into the middle layer, where the countercurrent drying phase begins. In the middle layer, the materials are repeatedly lifted, adopting a unique movement pattern of "advancing two steps and retreating one step." This movement not only allows the materials to fully absorb the heat emitted by the inner drum but also to absorb heat from the middle drum, thereby significantly extending the drying time and ensuring the materials attain an optimal dried state at this stage.
Upon reaching the opposite end of the middle layer, the materials descend into the outer drum. In the outer layer, the materials traverse in a rectangular multi-loop pattern. Those materials that have already achieved the desired drying effect are swiftly propelled forward by the hot air and are eventually discharged from the drum. Conversely, the wet materials that have not yet met the drying criteria advance more slowly due to their own weight. They undergo further thorough drying within the rectangular lifting plates of the outer layer until they satisfy the drying requirements. Thus, the entire drying process is successfully concluded.
The three-pass dryer is primarily used for drying granular materials within a specific range of moisture content and particle size, such as yellow sand, molding sand, slag, coal cinder, fine-grained clay, and other small granular materials that are not susceptible to contamination from high temperatures and dust. The moisture content of the dried materials can reach as low as 0.5% or even less. This equipment is extensively utilized in industries such as dry-mixed mortar production, yellow sand processing, cement plant slag utilization, clay processing, coal mining, mixed materials manufacturing, iron powder production, building materials, chemicals, and foundry, providing raw materials for these sectors.
The three-pass drying machine is an innovative and energy-efficient equipment designed based on the traditional single-cylinder rotary drying machine. After practical applications in numerous enterprises and across a wide range of industries, this equipment has demonstrated outstanding performance and results. Compared with the traditional single-cylinder drying machine, the three-pass drying machine has undergone significant structural optimizations and upgrades, particularly by adding a pre-drying stage for wet materials and effectively extending the drying cycle within the machine.
Meanwhile, combined with precise sealing technology, moisture-retaining measures, and a series of scientific and reasonable supporting solutions, the production capacity of the three-pass drying machine has been significantly increased by 50% to 80%. Its evaporation intensity per unit volume reaches as high as 120 to 180 kilograms per cubic meter, while the standard coal consumption is only 6 to 8 kilograms per ton, showcasing remarkable energy-saving effects. This equipment is technologically advanced, with reasonably set operating parameters, easy and feasible operation, and highly practical value.

(2)The final moisture content is low, and the final moisture content of the material is guaranteed to be less than 0.5%, which is the preferred product for the dry-mix mortar and slag powder production line.
(3)High thermal efficiency, the self-insulation thermal efficiency of the cylinder is as high as 70% (the thermal efficiency of the traditional single-cylinder dryer is only 35%), and the thermal efficiency is improved by 35%.

(5)The civil engineering investment and electricity consumption are minimal. Compared to single-cylinder dryers, it reduces land occupation by roughly 50%, civil engineering investment by approximately 50%, and electricity consumption by 60%.

(7)The exhaust temperature is low, enabling prolonged use of dust removal equipment.

Its primary advantage is the significant enhancement of heat exchange efficiency between materials and thermal energy, ensuring superior drying results for the materials. Moreover, the initial investment for this equipment is relatively low, amounting to only half of that required for a single-cylinder dryer with the same production capacity, thereby significantly reducing the upfront one-time investment cost. It operates reliably with low energy consumption and high thermal efficiency. In addition, it is easy to implement automated control, which reduces the number of operators and effectively conserves labor resources.
